My area of
expertise is washing my car. To me I take pride in washing my car. When I am
washing my car I make sure not to miss anything at all because if I do it will
annoy the crap out of me and it just isn’t professional. There are several
steps in washing a car perfectly; it takes me about 2 hours to clean it
perfectly. I learned how to wash my car perfectly from my father. In a way it
is like the passing of the torch. My dad is crazy good at washing cars, it’s
kinda scary. It takes me two hours to wash my car; it takes him two hours to
wash four cars (not even kidding). There was one time where I just got back
from lax practice and my dad was relaxing watching TV. So I go upstairs I take
a shower and watch TV for like ten minutes. Then I hear him calling me to meet
him in the garage. I make my way down stairs and into the garage to see my car squeaky
clean and just like 25 minutes ago it was covered with pollen and dirt. I asked
him if he waxed the car as well he just stared at me and said “do I ever not
wax” I was completely amazed at this feat. I want to be able to wash a car as
fast as my dad. What I learned from my dad is a specific order in which to
wash. This order is tires, spray the car down, hand wash the car, rinse, tires
again, dry with a blower, and then hand wax the car. Believe it or not this is extremely
tiring and exhausting. Washing a car is fine talent and it is very practical
because a clean car is happy car! In all reality for me washing my car is one
of the best stress reliever that I have. It is also a really good time for some
serious thinking. When I wash my car I think about what my like is like and how
I can make it better. And other time I just zone out and just wash. My
expertise is washing cars and I'm proud of it, I love doing it.
Mike-- besides reflecting that classic Pota-voice (your witty, energetic writing tone), this response is definitely a great example of having passion and insight for something most of us would just take for granted! Thanks for the tips-- I will certainly remember your strategies next time I wash my car (which, truth be told, is once a decade or so! :) ).
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteI wash my car by hand too! I enjoy your humorous comments in each sentence. You definitely used logos being sure not miss a step in the car washing process. You also used pathos, which expressed your true passion for car washing. However, next time expand on the tools of which you wash your car, what kind of wax you use, etc. Otherwise, nice job.
Potapow!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post, I like it a lot! I think that the way you talk about your car is like you're talking about a person or a pet that you adore. I think that this post really reflects your cool personality and how simple you can be when seeking peace to think, or just a pastime. Again, i like how you personified the car said "a clean car is happy car!" it made me laugh.
Keep up your funny posts :)
